Two Glen Burnie residents were arrested Thursday after police executed a search warrant and recovered suspected narcotics, drug packaging materials and more than $36,000 in cash, Anne Arundel County police confirmed Friday.

On March 5, detectives with the Eastern District Strategic Patrol Team, assisted by the Northern District Strategic Patrol Team, carried out a search and seizure warrant a residence on Forestdale Avenue as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Before officers entered the residence, members of the department’s Quick Response Team detained a male suspect at the Royal Farms located at 400 Camp Meade Road, police said.

When officers entered the Forestdale Avenue home, they encountered a female suspect exiting a second-floor bathroom.

Investigators later determined she had allegedly attempted to discard several large bags of suspected cocaine by flushing them down the toilet.

Detectives also recovered two digital scales, packaging materials and more than $36,000 in U.S. currency.

Police arrested David Angelo Figlia, 30, of Glen Burnie, and Jade Eve Geraldine Dufour, 24, also of Glen Burnie.
