Maryland Lottery players had a moneymaking week, with winnings totaling more than $31.4 million from Dec. 1-7, according to Maryland Lottery and Gaming.

Among the notable wins, a Powerball ticket sold in Reisterstown narrowly missed the jackpot, which is now approaching $1 billion. The ticket matched four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball number, earning a $50,000 prize in the Dec. 1 drawing. As of Dec. 8, this prize remains unclaimed, Lottery officials said.

The Powerball jackpot, which has not been won since early September, has grown to an estimated annuity value of $875 million for the Dec. 8 drawing, making it the seventh-largest in the game’s history. The one-time payment option stands at an estimated $403.6 million.

Maryland Lottery scratch-off players in Manchester and Whiteford each claimed $100,000 prizes. The winning tickets were a $5,000,000 Cash ticket sold at Saubel’s Market in Whiteford and a Silver Bell Bucks ticket sold at Piper’s Wine and Spirit Barn in Manchester.

Other significant wins include several $50,000 prizes from various games, such as a Deluxe Crossword 10th Edition ticket sold in Baltimore and a JURASSIC PARK ticket sold in Forestville. A $30,000 Diamond Bingo 6th Edition ticket was sold at Speedy Convenience Store in Baltimore.

The Maryland Lottery encourages winners to sign the backs of their tickets and keep them in a safe place.

Prizes larger than $25,000 must be redeemed at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at any of the six casinos in Maryland, while prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at over 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers can redeem tickets worth up to $600.
