Neighbors in the West Forest Park neighborhood say they are shocked as Baltimore Police continue their investigation into an attempted armed robbery of a delivery driver.

Baltimore Police said it happened along 4700 Norfolk Avenue, near the Forest Park golf course on Saturday morning.

Video captured by a homeowner’s surveillance system shows a car pulling up at 6:30 a.m.

Minutes later, three people can be seen fighting on the ground.

Baltimore Police reported that a 31-year-old delivery driver was dropping off food when he was approached by a suspect who demanded his property and keys.

The department said another suspect then arrives with a knife and starts to fight with the first suspect.

The victim then grabs the knife, cutting one of the suspects in the process, before running off to his car, according to investigators.

As the victim is driving away, police say a suspect fired a shot at the car, hitting it.

Police audio revealed the victim drove minutes away from the scene and called police.

“Now says they shot at him,” the dispatch audio said. “The suspect has a cut on his face when he tried to take the knife from him. The suspect took his phone and his shoes.”

The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by medics.

BPD said officers responded to the call at 7:30 a.m., calling it an aggravated assault and shooting.

Neighbors reacting to the news on Sunday told FOX45 they were shocked.

One neighbor we spoke with said that in his 22 years of living in the neighborhood, he’s never heard of a crime like this happening so close to his home.

“Very surprised, especially with the houses here,” Elliott Jones said. “It’s been a very quiet neighborhood.”
