MONTGEOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A water main break has closed all northbound lanes of 16th Street at Second Avenue in Silver Spring on Friday morning.
The Montgomery County Police Department issued a traffic alert Friday morning asking drivers to seek an alternate route.

Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, shared photos of the water main break near the intersection of 16th Street and Second Avenue, saying some lanes were blocked.
Drivers traveling through the area should plan for delays and use alternate routes while the closure remains in place.
