36 people were injured after a Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus crashed into several vehicles and a FedEx building in Pikesville Wednesday evening.

Baltimore County Police said 12 vehicles were involved, including one car that flipped over. The crash happened along Reisterstown Road just before 6 p.m. on July 8.

New surveillance video shows the bus crossing the median before slamming into multiple structures.

Officials said of the 36 reported injuries, the bus driver was listed in critical condition.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene, saying people rushed outside looking for medics and first responders as crews worked to help victims across the crash site.

“It was so spread out from here all the way down. So many cars, so many pedestrians, so many people. People came out of the bus. Everybody was asked for a medic, and you didn’t know who to help first,” Arie Glazer, the owner of Uptown Jewelers, said.

A shock trauma team was sent to the scene, and BGE crews were also called in because of downed power lines.

Crews were seen Thursday cleaning up the wreckage and working to stabilize the damaged FedEx Office.

One nearby business owner said a salon sign may have prevented the bus from hitting her business directly.

I feel like God was protecting me somehow and the sign is so solidWe are just lucky that the sign was there and it protected us,” Neha Gupta, owner of Neha Threading Salon and Spa, said.

Governor Wes Moore said his administration is monitoring the situation and thanked first responders.

FOX45 News reached out to Baltimore County Police asking where the investigation stands, whether fault has been determined, the extent of injuries, and whether any arrests are expected. At the time this article was published, we are still waiting to hear back.
