Wrong-way crash in Gaithersburg leaves 2 hospitalized

A wrong-way driver caused a head-on crash involving two vehicles late last night in Gaithersburg, leaving one person trapped and sending two adults to the hospital, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials said.

The collision happened around midnight at Muddy Branch Road and Killarney Lane. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service units responded and found a two-car, head-on crash with one patient trapped.

Firefighters extricated one patient from a vehicle. That adult was transported as a Priority 2 trauma patient, according to MCFRS.

The other driver was not initially transported from the crash scene, but was later transported as a Priority 3 patient from the Gaithersburg Police Station, MCFRS said.
