
WASHINGTON (TNND) — A 14-year-old boy in Wyoming has been charged with the death of his mother. The pair reportedly got into an argument over an electronic tablet before the mother was shot.
Police responded to the report of a 41-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head at around 12:50 p.m. local time on Saturday, March 7.
When police authority responded to the woman as “unconscious but breathing, with a visible gunshot wound to the back of her head.”
The victim was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to a medical center in Colorado. She ultimately died from her injuries after arriving at the hospital, according to a news release.
Authorities said that “a juvenile was taken into custody at the scene.”
Theresa McIntosh’s son said he shot McIntosh while she was in his bedroom with McIntosh’s gun, which she kept in the car.
The teen told authorities that he took the weapon out of his closet. The gun was taken from McIntosh’s car a week before the shooting after a fight over the teen’s math grades.
The 14-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder and will be tried as an adult, according to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.
