The 15th victim from a fiery UPS plane crash in Louisville, Kentucky, in November passed away on Christmas morning from the injuries they sustained in the accident.

Mayor Craig Greenberg broke the news in a Facebook post, identifying Alain Rodriguez Colina as the victim.

“It is with great sadness that I just learned Alain Rodriguez Colina has passed. Alain is the 15th victim of the UPS Flight 2976 accident,” the mayor wrote. “He suffered severe injuries at the time of the crash and passed earlier this Christmas Day. May Alain’s memory be a blessing.”

Photos from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) showed the engine tearing away from a UPS cargo plane before it crashed.

A preliminary investigation determined there was evidence of cracks in the left wing’s engine mount.

The agency said the Boeing (McDonnell-Douglas) MD-11F cargo plane was destroyed when it hit the ground shortly after takeoff from a runway at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville on November 4.

Three pilots on the plane, along with 11 people on the ground, were killed. Twenty-three other people were hurt.

The plane only got about 30 feet off the runway before it crashed, the NTSB said, citing the flight data recorder that was collected from the scene.
