(TNND) — The U.S. military announced on Sunday that three service members were killed in action and five are seriously wounded after a joint strike on Iran as part of Operation Epic Fury.
Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions and will return to duty, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
“Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing,” officials said.
Names and additional information of the soldiers will not be released until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified, CENTCOM noted.
