
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A suspect accused of aggravated assault was taken into custody after police released a notice to the public, calling him “armed and dangerous.”
Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department responded to a domestic dispute call near 600 S 540 E in Salt Lake City on Sunday. They began searching the area for the suspect, who had last been seen leaving on foot.
Officials released a notice just before 12:25 p.m., saying the suspect, identified as Lovell Grant, was considered dangerous and the public should not approach him. About ten minutes later, they published an update, saying he was taken into custody.
Police said the suspect was found in the area and transported to a hospital, as he had been injured in the dispute. They said he will be booked in the Salt Lake County Jail after receiving treatment.
Details on the alleged assault have not been released, but a large police presence has been in the area since around 9:45 a.m.
The scene was cleared shortly before 1 p.m., and the road was reopened.
