MINNESOTA (TNND) — Police arrested anti-ICE protesters at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Friday after they reportedly overstepped their permit. Among them were dozens of faith leaders.
On Friday, a network of labor unions, progressive organizations and clergy members asked Minnesotans to join them in a mass mobilization called “ICE Out of MN” to protest the Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

According to Faith in Minnesota, over 100 clergy and faith leaders were arrested at the state’s largest airport. The group said protesters gathered in “peaceful, prayerful resistance to demand airlines — especially Delta and Signature Aviation — stand with Minnesotans.” It claims an estimated 2,000 people have been deported through the airport.
“In -20 weather, across every background and every corner of our state, Minnesotans will always show up to protect our people,” the group shared in a video on Facebook.
Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesman Jeff Lea said the protesters were arrested when they exceeded the stipulations of their permit to demonstrate, potentially disrupting airline operations, The Associated Press reports.

Authorities have not released just how many people were detained at the airport. Protests have broken out daily in the area since Renee Good was fatally shot by an ICE officer.
