Body of missing UA student believed to be found at sea in Barcelona

The body of 20-year-old missing University of Alabama student James “Jimmy” Gracey has been found at sea, according to Barcelona news outlet El Periodico.

According to the outlet who has been covering the case, Mossos d’Esquadra recovered the body in the early afternoon.

Gracey was last seen in the early hours of last Tuesday, March 17 in Barcelona on a breakwater in the area of Somorrostro beach.

The news outlet said efforts are being made to identify the body, although evidence indicates that it is Gracey, according to sources of the investigation.

Catalan Police said the body was found and removed in front of Port Olympic at 6PM local time. Police said it was found in the water, about 4 meters deep, but the body has not been officially identified yet.
