WASHINGTON (TNND) — Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Friday during a press conference that the U.S. has arrested an alleged key participant in the Benghazi attack in 2012.
“I’m proud to announced that the FBI has arrested one of the key participants behind the Benghazi attack,” Bondi said.
She said the suspect landed at Andrews Air Force Base at 3 a.m. this morning. The suspect is Zubayr Al-Bakoush.
“He is in our custody,” she said.
In September of 2012, Islamic militants attacked a U.S. diplomatic compound and a CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya.
Four Americans were killed as a result of the attack.
Pirro praised the Trump administration for the efforts to bring justice to the attack.
She added that she spoke to the family members of the four Americans who were killed, saying they never thought justice would be coming.
“Time will not stop us from going after these predators no matter how long it takes in order to fulfill our obligation to those families who suffered horrific pain at the hands of these violent terrorists,” she said.
