The course includes stretches of Pennsylvania and Independence avenues as well as 3rd, 9th and 7th Streets. This will take the cars past landmarks like the Air and Space Museum, the U.S. Capitol and the National Archives.
The pit lane area of the track will be adjacent to the track, on Pennsylvania Avenue, between turns one and two on the circuit design, according to a news release.
“Buildout of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix circuit will begin later this summer, with the roads near the U.S. Capitol and around the National Mall expected to remain open and accessible throughout the majority of the course creation,” the release reads.
