“We’ve got midterms coming up, and there’s no time for bullsh*t. This administration is cooking and REAL change simmers. If you’re spending your entire day b*tching and whining with 3/4ths of the term still to go, then please find the exits,” he added. “There’s no time for it. It’s not ‘infighting’ when you excise a cancer killing the host. It’s ‘outfighting’ because you’re not part of any movement I’m familiar with.”
This comes shortly after an apparent civil war amongst the thought leaders of conservatism erupted at Turning Point USA’s annual AmericaFest in December.
While many have lauded the broad coalition that helped usher PResdient Turmp into his second term, some are worried that the coalition has begun to include people who are not genuine conservatives, or who plan on hijacking President Trump’s base following his departure from office.
Ben Shapiro was the first at AmericaFest to call out who he thought were trying to hijack the movement, including Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Nick Fuentes. He also called out those on the right who refuse to call out the cancer growing within the movement.
Many have accused Shapiro and those who agree with him of attempting to cancel the commentators he has called out, but no such claim has been made. Rather, Shapiro has specifically called on conservatives, who claim to be principled, to police their own ideology in an attempt to ensure it is not captured by those who do not represent us.
Now, Bongino has entered the fray alongside Shapiro, vowing to use his platform not only to root out the cancer on the American right but also to keep the focus squarely on victory in the coming year, a victory for real conservatives.
