WASHINGTON (TNND) — Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk called for Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz to be imprisoned amid reports of rampant fraud in the state.
Musk quote tweeted a post from conservative commentator Brandon Tatum who said that Walz didn’t want the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) because it would expose fraud.
“Walz didn’t fear Musk,” Tatum wrote on X.
“He feared exposure. The trail leads straight to Minnesota.”
Musk shared Tatum’s post with the caption, “Traitor Tim needs to go to prison.”
The state of Minnesota has been in the news for the last few days after independent journalist Nick Shirley went to multiple daycare centers in Minnesota on a weekday and showed that they were seemly vacant.
It has been alleged that millions of taxpayer dollars have been funding these centers, meaning there could be a lot of fraud.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Tuesday that it would be freezing childcare payments to Minnesota as a result of all the fraud.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., announced Wednesday that there would be a hearing on the alleged Minnesota fraud on January 7.
“DOJ is actively investigating, prosecuting, and charging fraudsters who have stolen billions from taxpayers, and Congress has a duty to conduct rigorous oversight of this heist and enact stronger safeguards to prevent fraud,” he wrote in a lengthy post on X.
