Florida Rep. Luna says the only way the SAVE Act will be passed is if its attached to FISA

Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna said Tuesday that the only way the SAVE Act will be passed is if it’s attached to the FISA.

“The Senate has failed the American people and will not under any circumstances pass the Save America Act, which is why we will have to stick that on FISA,” Luna wrote on X.

“THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THIS PASSED.”

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE Act) requires proof of U.S. citizenship when individuals register to vote in federal elections.

Luna has threatened to shut down the floor of the House if the Senate didn’t pass the legislation.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., rejected President Donald Trump’s call for the Senate to pass the SAVE Act.

He said the reason was “the votes aren’t there for a taking filibuster,” according to The Hill newspaper.

“The votes aren’t there, one, to nuke the filibuster and the votes aren’t there for a talking filibuster,” Thune said.

“It’s just a reality. I’m the person who has to deliver sometimes the not-so-good news that the math doesn’t add up but those are the facts and there’s no getting around it.”

Luna said on X that there are enough votes to kill FISA if the SAVE Act is attached and called on Thune to get it done.

“There are enough votes in the House to kill FISA unless the SAVE America Act is attached to it,” she wrote on X. “@LeaderJohnThune do the right thing.”
