TIPP CITY, Ohio (WKEF) — A former “American Idol” contestant was charged in connection with his wife’s death, according to authorities.
The Miami County Prosecutor’s Office authorized the release on Friday of the 911 call that Caleb Flynn, 39, made after his wife, 37-year-old Ashley Flynn, was shot and killed Monday morning.
Caleb was arrested and charged with her murder on Thursday, and he was arraigned the next morning.
At the beginning of the call, Caleb tells the dispatcher that someone broke into their home and shot his wife. He is asked if the person is still in the house.
“I don’t know, I don’t know,” said Caleb.
He sounds panicked and at times hysterical on the phone. He begs authorities to hurry, and then the dispatcher asks him what he is seeing.
“My wife, she’s, she’s got two shots to her head. There’s blood everywhere. Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God,” said Caleb.
He proceeds to tell the dispatcher that the door to the garage was “wide open,” and that his daughters are in the house.
“Where is she at?” the dispatcher said.
“She’s in the bed,” said Caleb.
Caleb tells the dispatcher his daughters are in their room, and he was with them when Ashley was shot. He said his daughters were asleep.
“Are you hearing any kind of noise inside the house,” said the dispatcher.
“No, No. Her face is… also, her face is white as a ghost. Please, please,” said Caleb.
The dispatcher asked Caleb if Ashley was breathing, and he said he did not think so.
“Ashley, Ashley baby, baby please. Oh, my God there… no, she’s not,” said Caleb.
The dispatcher asked Caleb if he saw any vehicles, and he said no.
Caleb is then told to get a cloth and put it on the gunshot wound and is told to check on the children.
