WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump acknowledged his appearance in the thousands of photos released by the Department of Justice related to sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein on Monday.
Several of the photos also included former President Bill Clinton, raising questions about his relationship to Epstein.
“I think it’s terrible. I like Bill Clinton,” Trump said.
“I hate to see photos come out of him,” the president added.
The president said he does not like the photos of Clinton because photos like that ruin the reputations of individuals who were “innocent.” In his remarks, the president also referenced former Harvard President Larry Summers, who has ties to Epstein.
Trump blamed Democrats and “a couple of bad Republicans” for the release of the files. During his remarks, Trump called Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., a “low-life” and a “loser.” Massie sponsored the Epstein Transparency Act, which triggered the release of the files.
The president added that “everyone was friends” with Epstein, explaining that he “threw him out of Mar-a-Lago.”
Following his reaction, he criticized the media for focusing on Epstein instead of what his remarks were really about, the announcement of the so-called “Golden Fleet” for the U.S. Navy.
