I’m Proud to Be an American

Shortly after Barack Obama was elected President, Rush Limbaugh created a firestorm by saying he hoped Obama failed. The Left was outraged.

“How could you root against America?!” they screamed at Limbaugh.

But Limbaugh wasn’t rooting against America. He was protecting America, hoping that Barack Obama’s radical Leftist ideologies — ones that sought to destroy this nation — wouldn’t take root.

In other words, Limbaugh was right. You can draw a direct line from Barack Obama’s terms in office to the radicalism of today’s Democratic Party, and that’s not a good thing.

One thing remained consistent throughout Obama’s presidency, though. I was never ashamed to be an American, and I was never not proud of this country.

Leftists, on the other hand, are angry that a Republican is in office, and doubly so because that Republican is Donald Trump;o because that Republican is Donald Trump, they’ve decided that it’s okay to hate America. They’re not content to hate it on their own, however. If anyone shows even the slightest love of or appreciation for America, the Left attacks like sharks in bloody water.

That’s why Freddy, the German World Cup tourist, had to delete his X account. Livid that a European was making America — especially the rural South — look good, trolls perused Freddy’s X account for posts they considered ‘problematic’ in attempts to create controversy and dox the man.

Democrats want America to fail. They want this great experiment to join the dustbin of history so they can rebuild America in their own socialist utopia image. They’re mad that their preferred forms of governance have withered and died on the vine repeatedly while America — despite numerous challenges — continues chugging along.

And it’s why Joy Behar is chiding us that we should be embarrassed to be American right now.

Here’s more:

Joy Behar said Friday that Americans should share her embarrassment about the state of the country, agreeing with comedian Larry David that the White House’s recent UFC event was a national humiliation.

During the Friday episode of ABC’s “The View,” Ms. Behar played a clip of Mr. David calling the June 14 UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House South Lawn a “travesty” and saying he was “embarrassed to be an American.” According to Variety, Mr. David made the remarks at the Hollywood premiere of his new HBO show, “Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America.”

“I have — I’m very good friends with Larry David, and so I’m not going to — I think he’s right in many ways,” Ms. Behar said. “I mean, you listen to Trump. We have — we used to have friends around the world. Now we don’t have them anymore.”

So the UFC fight was a national embarrassment, but Joe Biden letting topless transgenders prance around the White House lawn was perfectly fine.

Sure, Joy.

Frankly, why should we care what the rest of the world thinks of us? They certainly don’t care what we think of them as they enact draconian anti-speech laws, cede their nations to Islamists who rape their women and destroy their culture, and struggle to keep their buildings cool during this hot season we call summer. There’s a reason why the world comes begging us for aid, and it’s not because they’re better than we are.
