WASHINGTON (TNND) — The target of a plot dating back to 2020 involves American voters, with China reportedly accessing their information.
The report is largely redacted but provides some details about China’s increased abilities to analyze and manipulate large quantities of Americans’ personal information. (TNND)
It’s laid out in an intelligence assessment declassified in 2022 and reported on first in Just the News.
The report is largely redacted but provides some details about China’s increased abilities to analyze and manipulate large quantities of Americans’ personal information.
It also states that “Chinese intelligence officials analyzed multiple U.S. states’ [Redacted] election voter registration data, [Redacted] to conduct public opinion analysis on the 2020 US general election,”
It’s a strategy laid out in a 2023 House Homeland Security Committee hearing.
“China engages in operations to disseminate information to foreign audiences. To date, the bulk of these activities are aimed at shaping global public opinion,” said Dr. Tyler Jost, a researcher of China policy and former intelligence officer.
Another tool of the Chinese influence campaign includes apparent encouragement by the Chinese government to its wealthier residents to travel to the United States prior to a woman giving birth.
There’s an entire industry that has exploded in recent years surrounding what’s now known as “birth tourism.”
“Birth tourism is the idea that, you pay us and we will get you flown into the United States. You can give birth to your child. Your child will be granted American citizenship because of birthright, in the 14th Amendment,” said Government Accountability Institute President, Peter Schweizer.
One website, asiamchild.com, offers “reliable full service maternity care in the U.S for mothers traveling from China to the us to give birth.”
It features photos of accommodations at the homes, most located in Los Angeles, with private nurseries with surveillance cameras, and meals showing the taste of home
Schweizer said by some estimates, a million babies in the last 13 years have been born in the United States and then raised in China, which he called a majority vulnerability, and details the trend in his new book, “The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers use Immigration as a Weapon.”
“The problem is that these people, when they turn 18, are going to be able to vote, they’re going to be able to donate to political campaigns. They’re going to be able to apply for sensitive government jobs.
If you have a million U.S. citizens who are in China subject to the control and the authority of the CCP, that could be deployed in terms of trying to, you know, swing an election,” Schweizer said.
A campaign of influence led by China, and largely hidden for now, the objective of which remains mostly unknown.
