WASHINGTON (TNND) — An Obama appointed federal judge in Louisiana ordered that four criminal illegal immigrants with murder and child sexual abuse convictions be released from ICE custody.
Judge John deGravelles made the ruling to release “three murderers and a pedophile” last Friday, prompting fierce criticism from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“Releasing these monsters is inexcusably reckless,” McLaughlin said in a statement. “President Trump and Secretary Noem are now enforcing the law and arresting illegal aliens who have no right to be in our country. We are applying the law as written. If an immigration judge finds an illegal alien has no right to be in this country, we are going to remove them. Period.”
The Department of Homeland Security shared the names and mugshots of the convicted illegal immigrants. Some of them had final orders of removal issued over 30 years ago.
Francisco Rodriguez-Romero is an illegal immigrant from Cuba, DHS said. He was convicted for homicide and weapons offense. He was issued a final order of removal on May, 30 1995.
DHS confirms Ricardo Blanco Chomat is another criminal alien from Cuba. He was convicted of homicide, kidnapping , aggravated assault with a firearm, burglary, robbery, larceny, and selling cocaine. Chomat was issued a final order of removal on March 27, 2002.
Cuban national Luis Gaston-Sanchez was issued a final order of removal on September 24, 2001, per DHS. He was convicted for homicide, assault, resisting an officer, concealing stolen property, and two counts of robbery.
The fourth criminal illegal immigrant Judge deGravelles decided to release was child predator Ibrahaim Ali Mohammed, an Ethiopian national released into the country by the Biden administration, DHS reports. He was convicted for sexual exploitation of a minor. An immigration judge issued him a final order of removal on September 5, 2024.
