The Justice Department has released additional files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein that include uncorroborated accusations made in 2019 by a woman against President Donald Trump.
The woman alleged she was raped by Epstein in South Carolina and sexually assaulted by Trump in either New York or New Jersey in the 1980s. She told authorities she was between the ages of 13 and 15 at the time.
The FBI said it tried to get more details about the alleged encounters, but the woman declined to answer more questions and broke off contact.
The White House called the allegations “completely baseless” and “backed by zero credible evidence.”
Trump has consistently denied wrongdoing in connection with Epstein, who is described in the files as a late convicted sex offender. The documents note that inclusion in the files is not proof of guilt.
The Justice Department said it had mistakenly withheld the accusation from the initial release because the files were “incorrectly coded.”
