Kate Hudson isn’t holding back when it comes to sex, relationships, and emotional connections. The actress recently shared blunt bedroom advice for couples struggling to feel connected behind closed doors.
During an appearance on the “Sibling Revelry” podcast, Hudson, 46, opened up in a conversation with relationship expert Dr. Laura Berman about intimacy and how her “feminine side” can fluctuate depending on the state of her relationship.
“If things are like not connecting in the relationship, I usually don’t feel like I want to have sex with my partner,” Hudson explained. Still, the “Song Sung Blue” star revealed she sometimes pushes through those feelings anyway. “That being said, I am also the kind of person that’s like, ‘I’ll just make myself have sex, and I’ll feel better,’” she added.
Hudson went on to explain how physical intimacy can reignite emotional closeness. “So I’ll shut that part off and then once I have sex and I get that dopamine going and that connective tissue back a little bit, then I can kind of – it actually opens something up for me. Then I’m like, ‘Oh, I actually feel more connected than I did.’”
She didn’t mince words when offering advice to couples experiencing a similar disconnect. “Sometimes, I think you actually just need to have sex with your partner, even if you’re not feeling it. You need to kind of almost like get your head around it differently. Because usually, afterward, you feel a different sense of closeness.”
Hudson is currently engaged to musician and actor Danny Fujikawa. The couple’s love story spans more than 15 years, beginning as friends before turning romantic. They welcomed their daughter in 2018 after taking their relationship to the next level.
