WASHINGTON (TNND) — Following Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show performance, people on social media speculated that the child the Puerto Rican rapper handed a Grammy Award to was Liam Conejo Ramos, the little boy detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minnesota.
During the halftime show performance, Bad Bunny handed an award to a little boy that read, “Cree siempre en ti,” which means, “always believe in yourself.”
This resulted in many on social media speculating that the boy was Liam Conejo Ramos.
“BENITO GAVE HIS GRAMMY TO LIAM RAMOS?” one user on social media wrote.
However, a publicist for Bad Bunny told NPR Music that the little boy was not Conejo Ramos, but a child actor. People Magazine confirmed his identity as child actor is Lincoln Fox.
Other performers that made an appearance during Bad Bunny’s performance included Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga.
Earlier this year, a little boy was detained by ICE, resulting in protests and outrage.
Federal officials said the boy was allowed to stay with his father after the father was arrested in Minneapolis in order to avoid family separation.
Anti-ICE protests increased around the U.S. due to immigration crackdown operations in the state.
Minnesota is where two protesters were fatally shot while protesting the immigration policies of President Donald Trump. The FBI is investigating both instances.
