CALIFORNIA (TNND) — A jury has convicted a man who killed a CEO in 2019 after breaking into his home.
Joshua Camps was found guilty of first-degree murder, robbery, kidnapping, burglary and carjacking. He is scheduled to be sentenced in April.
Camps, along with three other defendants, was found guilty last week by a Santa Cruz jury for several offenses surrounding the first-degree murder and kidnapping of CEO Tushar Atre in October 2019.
Kaleb Charters, Kurtis Charters and Stephan Lindsay, Camps’ accomplices, were also convicted of first-degree murder last year.
In November, Kaleb Charters told the jury during his trial that he, along with Stephan Lindsay, worked under Atre in August 2019. During his time working there, they were allegedly forced to work starting from dawn for $200 per day.
After Charters and Lindsay allegedly lost Atre’s truck keys briefly, Atre ordered the pair to do 500 pushups for $1,400, according to reports from SFGate.
On Oct. 1, 2019, the four broke into Atre’s home to steal $1 million that was believed to be in his residence. Camps stabbed the millionaire as he ran down the street, which was captured all on home security footage, according to prosecutors.

The four then kidnapped Atre after the stabbing and took him to his cannabis farm. It was at this farm that Camps shot Atre in the back of his head.
