A Pennsylvania man who killed his 82-year-old mother and reportedly stashed her body under “a large pile of items” in their house learned his fate this week.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said William Ingram, 51, was sentenced on Wednesday to 30 to 64 years in state prison.
Authorities said they discovered Dolores Ingram’s remains inside the condominium she shared with her son during a welfare check in June 2024.

“When officers arrived, the home was in disarray, and Delores Ingram’s body was found buried under a large pile of items, including a couch, an aquarium with dead reptiles nearby, dishes, and lamps,” according to 6ABC.
The media outlet also noted that investigators found six pounds of marijuana, as well as psilocybin mushrooms, along with more than $53,000 in cash, thrown over the body. Investigators said they determined that the drugs were intended for distribution, per the outlet.
Prosecutors said after killing his mother, Ingram stole her car and drove to Washington, D.C., where he was taken into custody later that morning for assaulting an officer and damaging a police car.
“While in custody, he confessed to Metro D.C. police officers that he had killed his mother,” prosecutors said.
Ingram previously pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and several other charges in connection to his mother’s murder.
An autopsy determined his mother died from blunt trauma to the head, slicing injuries and lacerations, per 6ABC.
Ahead of the sentencing, the woman’s two daughters shared emotional impact statements, describing their mother as a “kind, generous person” who “showed her love by being there for those around her.”
While one daughter said there were no words to fully describe the magnitude of the loss, the other said she often has nightmares about her mother’s last moments alive.
In court, Judge Stephen A. Corr addressed Ingram directly, calling the homicide an “unspeakable crime” committed against a mother who never stopped supporting him.
“She wasn’t giving up on you, but you gave up on her,” Corr said.
Deputy District Attorney Monica Furber described similar sentiments.

“Despite the care she gave him throughout his life, he repaid her by killing her,” Furber said during the hearing.
