Michigan Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin announced Wednesday morning that she was under federal investigation for a video she and other lawmakers posted last year.

“Last week, U.S. Attorney from the District of Columbia, former Fox host Jeannine Pirro, reached out asking to interview me because of a 90-second video that I filmed in November,” she wrote on X.

“This is on top of an FBI inquiry that came from the counter terrorism division late last year.”

Last year, Democratic senators released a video where they urged military members not to follow unlawful orders, which was labeled as sedition by the Trump administration.

One of the other senators in the video, Arizona Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly was censured by the Pentagon.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced earlier this week that he was taking steps to demote Kelly, a veteran, and cut his pension in half over the video.

Slotkin said that the investigation is an attempt to silence her.

“This president does not represent the views of the majority of Americans,” she said in her video.

“Even if you voted for him, I do not believe that his vision of America is shared by a majority of Americans because this country is worth fighting for.”

She said that speaking out against the “abuse of power” is the most patriotic thing to do by fighting for freedom of speech.
