Police said the child, Lesma-Rose Wibier died on March 2, 2025, after emergency services were called to a scene. She was the suspect’s daughter, the BBC reported.

“Lesma-Rose was the star of the family,” her loved ones said in a statement released by police soon after the child’s death. “Anyone who knew her knew she was the most beautiful girl inside and out.”She always had a smile on her face and could put the same on others. She was such a smart and intelligent girl in her own unique ways, and she will be deeply missed by anyone who was blessed to meet her.”

The BBC said Wibier made an appearance at Manchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, adding that she is being held until the following day, as she is set to appear at Manchester Crown Court.
