
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Three Southern Nevada prison inmates have died in recent weeks, state officials reported.
Keith Sullivan, 53, was pronounced dead at High Desert State Prison near Indian Springs on Feb. 6, per a news release from the Nevada Department of Corrections issued March 9.
He was serving time for grand larceny and burglary out of Washoe County. NDOC said efforts to contact his next-of-kin had been unsuccessful.
A month later, on Friday, March 6, Albert Cota was pronounce dead at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas. Cota, 78, was serving up to life in prison for first-degree murder at Southern Desert Correctional Center near Indian Springs.
On Monday, March 9, Carlton Burnett was pronounced dead at High Desert State Prison. Burnett, 63, was also serving up to life for first-degree murder.
Prison officials say they were able to notify the families of Cota and Burnett of their deaths.
Autopsies were requested for all three men, according to NDOC. No further details have been disclosed.
