Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed a new deputy director for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Thursday after Madison Sheahan resigned to run for Congress in Ohio.

Noem said Charles Wall, who was ICE’s principal legal advisor, will begin serving “effective immediately.”

“For the last year, Mr. Wall served as ICE’s Principal Legal Advisor, playing a key role in helping us deliver historic results in arresting and removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from American neighborhoods,” Noem wrote about Wall on X.

Wall served as an ICE attorney for 14 years, and Noem praised him for being “a forward leaning, strategic thinker who understands the importance of prioritizing the removal of murderers, rapists, pedophiles, gang members, and terrorists from our country.”

Sheahan’s website states that under her tenure, she managed to hire 12,000 new law enforcement officers in just 180 days. She also touted that over 2.5 million illegal immigrants left under her leadership.

She will be running for office against Democratic Ohio Rep. Marcy Kaptur.
