Parents Shouldn’t Trust Their Children With Ms. Rachel

and Ms. Rachel has also said that Nolan Wells, the black Mississippi teen who drowned over the July 4 weekend, didn’t really drown, reinforcing a racist leftist talking point that Wells was murdered by his white friends (a grand jury found that it was likely Wells drowned). 

Parents need to be aware of how radical Ms. Rachel is, and not expose their children to her leftist politics.

The reality is that Rachel Griffin Accurso, who plays the character of Ms. Rachel, should not be trusted with your kids.

She’s become a prominent anti-Israel activist, but that’s just one part of her overall political messaging. If you’re letting your child watch Ms. Rachel because her anti-Israel comments don’t bother you, it’s important to understand that those comments are part of a larger grouping of far-left opinions.

Accurso describes herself as a devout Christian but often uses it as cover to promote her far-left opinions. While she falsely describes what is happening in Gaza as a “genocide” and pushes what critics say are debunked stories such as mass starvation in Gaza, she also opposes ICE, supports reparations for the descendants of slaves and opposes the very existence of billionaires.

She foments racial strife, as when she said of the investigation into the death of a Black teenager, Nolan Wells, who died after a boat trip near Mississippi’s Horn Island, that “We know the investigation and everything that followed would have been different if Nolan Wells were White and his friends were Black. Nolan and his family deserve justice.” There is no evidence that the police racialized the investigation whatsoever.

She also commented on a black man who was found hanging from a tree in Raleigh; Ms. Rachel said “black people don’t hang themselves from trees,” but it turned out the victim had a history of mental health issues and his death was ruled a suicide. She also remarked on the death of Cambridge University professor Jason Arday, who resigned after reports exposed his fraudulent biography and academic career, telling people to “listen, uplift, speak out, and show up.”

As Markowicz notes, Ms. Rachel is slow-walking her leftist politics into her show, including showing a Palestinian child missing legs and introducing a non-binary character. Markowicz also said “it’s very hard to un-brainwash children who have been ideologically captured by outside forces.” She notes that when she wrote a book, “Stolen Youth,” with co-author Bethany Mandel, many parents told them they’d wish they’d gotten involved when their kids were being led astray.

And Ms. Rachel is trying to do just that.
