Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong delivered a blunt message to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, as he urged them to resign.
He shared his thoughts while onstage at a Spotify-sponsored Super Bowl party in San Francisco Friday night.
“This goes out to all the ICE agents out there, wherever you are: quit your s**tty-a** job. Quit that s**tty job you have,” Armstrong said.
“Because when this is over — and it will be over at some point in time — Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Donald Trump, they’re gonna drop you like a bad f**king habit. Come on this side of the line,” he added.
Armstrong also changed some of the band’s song lyrics to reference a few hot button topics, including the Epstein files, according to Variety.
The media outlet noted that he changed the words from “the representative from California has the floor” to “the representative from Epstein Island has the floor,” when performing “Holiday.” He also dedicated the song to Minneapolis.
The comments come amid the Trump administration’s ongoing crackdown on illegal immigration, as well as after the shooting deaths of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
Pretti was killed by federal agents on January 24 during a protest, while Good was killed on January 7 after she allegedly tried to ram agents with her SUV.
In a new statement released one month after Good’s death, Good’s wife thanked the people of Minneapolis for all the love and support they’ve shown her.
“Minneapolis has shown me that even in the middle of grief and fear, people still show up for each other. For that, I want to say thank you. Thank you to this incredible community for showing up again and again — organizing food and rides, making sure our kids get to school, checking in on neighbors, and standing together in the cold. I am so proud to call Minneapolis my home,” she said, in part.
