The reconstruction of Gaza will be discussed at President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace meeting on Thursday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

“We’re talking about reconstructing Gaza,” Leavitt said during a press briefing on Wednesday.

“I remember when those words came from the president’s lips in the East Room many months ago.”

She said the president has an ambitious goal, but it will happen.

“Gaza, which is obviously a place that has been turmoiled by violence and chaos for many years, but we are well underway in doing that and it’s a historic accomplishment for this president.”

Following the war between Israel and Hamas, Gaza has been destroyed, with many parts considered unlivable.

Over 20 countries will be participating in the upcoming meeting on Thursday, Leavitt said.

Trump touted the meeting on TRUTH Social, saying it has “unlimited potential.”

“Last October, I released a Plan for the permanent end to the Conflict in Gaza, and our Vision was unanimously adopted by the United Nations Security Council,” he wrote in a lengthy TRUTH Social post. “Shortly thereafter, we facilitated Humanitarian Aid at record speed, and secured the release of every living and deceased Hostage.”

He said that the Board of Peace may be the most consequential international body in history.

Pope Leo was asked to attend the Board of Peace, but will not attend because of concerns it would undermine the United Nations.

“One concern is that at the international level it should above all be the U.N. that manages these crisis situations,” Vatican diplomat Pietro Parolin said, according to Politico.

“This is one of the points on which we have insisted.”
