AUSTIN, Texas β Free speech, media influence, and emerging technology were the focus of a panel discussion during South by Southwest.
The conversation brought together media leaders and technologists to examine censorship, the role of major media platforms, and how artificial intelligence could shape the future of public discourse.
Among the panelists was political analyst, syndicated columnist and co-owner of the Baltimore Sun Armstrong Williams, who emphasized the importance of journalists staying informed and engaged in conversations happening within the tech industry.
Williams said events like SXSW are valuable opportunities for media professionals to hear directly from technology leaders and innovators.
βItβs very important to us who are in print media and broadcast media that we are well informed and we are at places like this in Austin, Texas, where they are celebrating South by Southwest and talking about the issues,β Williams said. βWeβre here with the technology giants.β
