There’s a great line in the 1997 film “As Good As It Gets.” When asked how he writes women so well, reclusive author Melvin Udall (Jack Nicholson) says, “I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability.”
That line has been on my mind recently in regard to the Lindsay Clancy trial and the absolute fawning of some women over her. They are the embodiment of that quote.
I mean, remember when women said they’d choose to spend time in the woods with a bear instead of a man? It was a sad statement on the psyche of women more than it ever was any sort of indictment against men. Of course, I would argue that these women — most of them leftists, many of them with at least one diagnosed mental illness — don’t have many good examples of men on their side of the aisle.
Bill Clinton. Eric Swalwell. Graham Platner. Ruben Gallego. That’s not exactly a winning team, so I see why those women would choose the bear.
They said they felt safer in the presence of an uncontrollable wild animal than a man.

But guess what? Men have a right to feel safe in the presence of their significant other, too. And a lot of men have reportedly dumped their girlfriends/fiancees over how she views Lindsay Clancy. That trial wrapped up this week as of when I wrote this on Friday afternoon, the jury was still debating her fate. The defense has never claimed Clancy was innocent, and Clancy herself admitted she did it. The question before the jury basically boils down to: will she spend her life in prison or a padded room?
Yet some women find that they don’t like it when the shoe is on the other foot. As they say “Yas, queen!” to women who choose the Ursus americanus over a man, they’re suddenly not so keen on men turned off by women who applaud child-killers.
If you dumped your girlfriend or fiance or divorcing your wife because she supports Lindsay Clancy, than be sure one thing- you are the fool.
Letting outside views and opinions dictate to you how to view your partner- is the peak of weak, my friend.

The post reads:

If you did not have conversation with her first, to understand what exactly she supports and relates to, than congratulations- you got duped and played.
Men need to know how to communicate and understand their partners without other men telling them what to think and do.
So, y’all just messed up a lot of relationship. But they were doomed anyways, right? Because who the hell listens to online influencers about what they should do in/with their relationship?!
Turns out men are more likely than women to say they want to be parents one day, according to Pew. And it’s the innate nature of men to be providers and protectors, especially of their wives and children. Most relationships can survive disagreement on minor issues — he prefers his steaks rare, she likes them well-done — but they cannot survive if the couple doesn’t see eye-to-eye on the issue of not murdering their children.
These men clearly communicated with their girlfriends/fiancées and found Clancy’s response a dealbreaker. There is no acceptable answer to a question about Clancy besides she’s a monster and deserves to be locked up for the rest of her life. There’s no nuance. There is no “understanding.” If she were in the throes of a psychotic episode (and after reading more about this, I’m skeptical now), I might have limited sympathy for her. Ultimately, she was an adult with agency, and she made all the choices that led to that terrible day in January 2023.
But contrary to what many women on TikTok are saying, I don’t “relate” to her. I am not one step away from doing what she did to her young children. One was five, one was three, and the baby was eight months old. They deserve justice. Her ex-husband deserves sympathy, and Lindsay deserves to never see the light of day again.
So any man who is thinking about settling down with a woman has every right to know if she “relates” to a woman who killed her children. I haven’t listened to the 911 call, but I’ve listened to people who have, and I’ve read the transcripts. Those men are trying to avoid living through the same pain as Patrick Clancy did.
And I don’t blame them one bit.
