WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump isn’t ruling out a potential war with Venezuela, according to an exclusive report from NBC News.
“I don’t rule it out, no,” Trump said during a phone interview with the outlet when he was asked about going to war with Venezuela.
It was reported earlier this week that Trump ordered a blockade to prevent all “sanctioned oil tankers” from going to Venezuela.
This came shortly after the U.S. seized an oil tanker off Venezuela’s coast earlier this month.
During the phone interview with NBC News, Trump said that there would be more seizures of oil tankers.
When Trump was asked if ousting Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, Trump answered, “he knows exactly what I want.”
Over the past few months, the U.S. has been striking alleged drug boats in the Caribbean.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had a closed door briefing with members of the House and Senate on the matter. Hegseth has faced backlash for not releasing the full video of a strike that killed two survivors of an alleged drug boat.
This all comes as the Trump administration has said it would go after narcoterrorists.
