
WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump said Wednesday that there is more fraud in California than there is in Minnesota in the wake of the Medicaid fraud scandal.
He added that when it comes to election fraud, both states are tied when it comes to corruption.
Minnesota has been in the news this month after independent journalist Nick Shirley went to different daycare centers in Minneapolis that appeared to be vacant on a weekday.
These daycare centers were reportedly receiving millions of taxpayer dollars.
The Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday that it would be conducting a mass operation to identify and arrest criminals in Minnesota.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Tuesday that it would be freezing childcare payments to Minnesota as a result of all the fraud.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., announced Wednesday that there would be a hearing on the alleged Minnesota fraud on January 7.
“DOJ is actively investigating, prosecuting, and charging fraudsters who have stolen billions from taxpayers, and Congress has a duty to conduct rigorous oversight of this heist and enact stronger safeguards to prevent fraud,” Comer wrote in a lengthy post on X.
