Under Socialism, Rules Are for the Proletariat, Comrade

You will not, as some socialist supporters I know claim, have the free time to tend to your garden or spend your days streaming on Twitch because the government cares for everything. Under socialism, you have no garden; it belongs to the collective. You won’t have time to stream on Twitch because you will be working 12-hour days, six days a week, in a factory or industrial farm. You will have strict quotas to meet, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to go home to a substandard government-issued apartment where mold creeps up the walls, and the heat doesn’t always work in the winter.

Meanwhile, people like Cea Weaver? After seizing your property, she will go and spend the holidays at her mom’s Tennessee mansion. They’re already letting the mask slip.

Last week, I told you how DSA leader Gustavo Gordillo actually lives on mommy and daddy’s dime in a $1.5 million Brooklyn townhome. But it gets even worse. Gordillo is also doing work on the home that betrays the ideals of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), including not using union workers and not getting permission from the Building Department.

That’s right. While the DSA works to unionize everyone, one of their leaders and spokesmen won’t use union labor. I don’t blame him; unions are expensive. They have stupid rules that make the jobs they do more costly and time-consuming.

But I also oppose unions. I don’t want them to infiltrate every industry because they’re nothing more than a giant money-laundering scheme where union leaders steal money from working-class Americans to get rich while doing nothing to help us in return. That’s not new, either. In 1988, my union-member grandfather who spent his entire life working for a unionized trucking company, had a massive stroke. The company backdated his disability date to a time when he wouldn’t qualify for his pension or other benefits and the union — the one he religiously paid dues to for decades — did … nothing. They didn’t lift a finger to help my grandfather get what was his. And that was almost 40 years ago now.

Why isn’t Gordillo following his own rules? If it were any other person, there would be fines. Given the rabidity with which Mamdani and his administration hate private property, I can easily imagine them seizing the property from a non-socialist owner who didn’t use union work or pull proper permits. That’s what the fishing expedition that is the pied-a-terre tax scheme is, by the way. There’s a reason the website doesn’t let people prove they reside in taxed properties, and the seizures will start sooner rather than later.

But I guess Gordillo is above such things.

Or what about Grace Ryan, a wealthy chocolate heiress from Ohio? She not only went to the swanky Columbus Academy, with an eye-watering tuition bill of $35,000 a year, but then she went to New York University, which costs twice as much as Columbus Academy. If that wasn’t enough, she also lived in a $3,170 a month Bushwick studio apartment, because a chocolate heiress couldn’t slum it in the NYU dorms.

Only the rich can afford to be communists, or if you prefer, “Democratic Socialists.”

But she’s a commie darling, too. And she’s defending her wealth as “nobless oblige.”

“Noblesse oblige” is a fancy way of saying “rules for thee, but not for me.” In reality, it supposedly means that privileged people have a moral duty to help those less fortunate. But as we’ve seen time and again, socialism doesn’t do anything for the middle- and working classes besides drive them deeper into poverty, into gulags, and into mass graves.

In short, it’s (D)ifferent when DSA members do it.

Of course, it’s not just wealth that exposes their hypocrisy. As I’ve written about before, they don’t really intend to abolish the police or prisons. They intend to repurpose them for their political opponents. While criminals run free in your neighborhood, you’ll be rounded up and sent to a “reeducation camp” if you complain about this month’s maggot-infested meat rations. So realize where we are: wealth for them, poverty for you. Freedom for criminals, imprisonment for you.

These are people cosplaying as the proletariat, con men and women trying to draw you in to the promises of a socialist utopia, only for you to get bitten by the harsh reality of the communism they ultimately want.

Do not vote for these people, who have not only vowed a violent revolution, but who will never release their iron-curtain grip on power if they get it. Look at Nicaragua if you want to see where that leads. And remember this, too. Behind all that bluster about helping the working class lies the truth: rules are for the little people, comrade. And those rules will be strictly enforced.
