WASHINGTON (TNND) — Democratic Michigan State Sen. Mallory McMorrow is under fire after a video surfaced of her talking about what she would do if she ever encountered Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh in public.
In the footage, which went viral on Thursday, McMorrowsaid she would not be able to stop herself from throwing cans of beer at Barrett and Kavanaugh.
“So, I’m a Notre Dame grad, and Amy Coney Barrett coming out of my university makes me furious. Just on a personal level. I talked to somebody yesterday who said they saw her and Brett Kavanaugh at a tailgate last weekend. I would not have been able to control myself. That would be bad. There would be beers thrown in peoples’ faces,” McMorrow says in the video.
Fox News reported that McMorrow made the comments at a Huron Valley Indivisible event on November 12 after she was asked a question from a member of the audience.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee later shared the video on X.
“She needs help,” the Committee captioned the post.
In the comment section of the post, McMorrow’s remarks were met with a mix of criticism and praise.
“Funny how the dumbocrats constantly promote violence, and then howl that conservatives need to ‘tone down the rhetoric,'” one person wrote.
“And who’s the party that promotes violence?” another added.
Others said they would be “willing to help” McMorrow throw beer at the justices.
Another said “everyone is just tired of [these] corrupt Supreme Court Justices, ” adding that they both lied during their confirmation hearings.
McMorrow has served in the Michigan Senate since January 2019. She became Senate majority whip in 2023 and represents the 8th district.
