A man allegedly defrauded at least 26 women out of more than $1 million by posing as a wealthy San Francisco 49ers football player and presenting fake investment opportunities, federal prosecutors announced this week.

From February 2022 until his arrest on Aug. 24, 2026, Daejon Labrayae Love, 35, is accused of using extravagant fake personas to lure unsuspecting women in multiple states into his life and take their money, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Oregon.

Prosecutors allege that Love met most of the women on dating apps. He reportedly posed as an athlete or real estate investor, both online and in person, to convince them he was a “sophisticated investor.” Another defendant, Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, allegedly posed as Love’s financial advisor to back up the claims.

Once the victims ran out of money or were asking too many questions, Love blocked them and kept their money, prosecutors alleged. Both he and Chan were arrested at the Boise, Idaho airport on Aug. 24 and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud.
