WaPo Really Isn’t Happy With This Trump Immigration Policy

The Washington Post published a new graphic lamenting the lower rate of American citizenship approvals, but only because it is leading to less voting.

“U.S. citizenship approvals are down 72 percent—leaving many unable to vote,” the social media graphic read.

“Immigration officials approved 173,000 people for citizenship through the first eight months of 2026, down 72 percent from last year,” the caption continued. “A sharp tapering off in naturalizations has left hundreds of thousands of immigrants waiting as midterms approach.”

Looking at the data, it’s pretty clear why the Washington Post is so concerned about getting more naturalized citizens into the ballot box: the majority are going to vote for progressives.

Data out of California shows that more than half of registered voters who gained citizenship through naturalization registered with the Democrat Party. When compared to the state’s U.S.-born citizens, the numbers are even starker. Naturalized citizens are 13 percent more likely to register as a Democrat and 50 percent less likely to register as a Republican. Keep in mind, these “U.S.-born citizens” include the children of illegal aliens born on U.S. soil.

Social media users were pretty quick to catch onto the narrative the Washington Post was pushing.

The good news for Republicans is that winning teams wouldn’t be making complaints as transparent as this.
