WASHINGTON (TNND) — Amid President Donald Trump’s ongoing efforts to acquire Greenland, YouTuber Nick Shirley visited the Arctic territory and filmed a video centered around Greenland residents’ opinions about becoming a United States territory.
“Now more than ever the US is becoming closer to acquiring Greenland,” Shirley wrote on X. “The US has made multiple attempts to acquire Greenland dating back to 1946, now President Trump says a “framework deal” is in place. I went to Greenland to speak with the Greenlanders to see what they have to say about potentially joining the US.”
Shirley posted the video of his trip to Greenland to YouTube last week, but he posted the video again on X Thursday.
His post comes as Trump announced Monday that the United States and Denmark are close to solidifying a deal ensuring that the United States will “have total access to Greenland.”
Following the release of a video last month alleging millions of dollars in fraud committed by Somali run daycare centers in Minnesota, Shirley has garnered major traction with mainstream media. He’s appeared on multiple podcasts and shows, including fellow YouTuber Andrew Callaghan.
Like Shirley, Callaghan also creates journalistic style content, both of whom have made videos centered around the Southwest Border.
Shirley is accusing Callaghan of heavily editing their interview together to paint him in an unfavorable view.
“When he goes and posts the video, I see he just posts an hour long interview,” Shirley said.
“I said, ‘well, that’s weird, because we actually spoke for around two and a half hours’, and then I went and watched the interview. I’m saying, ‘Well, what? What is this?”
Callaghan disputed Shirley’s claims with his own YouTube video as he traveled back to the states from Greenland, explaining what he edited out of the interview.
Callaghan said the edits were meant to help Shirley appear more well spoken.
