2 runaway peacocks found safe after weeks of Carroll County Facebook posts

Two peacocks, one from Carroll County and one from just north, were located last week with the help of members of Carroll County Facebook groups.

Pretty Boy, a black-shouldered, white-eyed peacock owned by Bell’s Farmette, was scared from his Littlestown, Pennsylvania, home on April 24. The farm’s owners, Antonia, 47, and Richard Bell, 48, scoured Facebook for photos of their bird.

In the process, they gained a following of peacock-searchers, and sightings began flooding in, but not all of them were of the Bells’ bird. Facebook posts from Carroll County, about a five-minute drive from the Pennsylvania farm, showed snippets of a different peacock on the loose.

On Wednesday, the other peacock was located and captured by Carroll County Animal Control.
