Officials confirm warehouse fire in Westminster; residents urged to avoid Route 140 area

CARROLL COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — Multiple fire departments responded to a warehouse fire in Westminster on Monday evening, officials confirmed.

The Upperco Volunteer Fire Company reported a second-alarm fire at the Battery Warehouse on Route 140.

Officials stated that all lanes of Route 140, from Market Street to the Sheetz, remain closed as crews work to battle the fire.

The Westminster Fire Department, Upperco Volunteer Fire Company, and several units from Carroll County and Baltimore County are on the scene fighting the blaze.

Authorities urge residents to avoid the area while crews work to contain the fire.
