Downtown Partnership of Baltimore has announced the return of the Charles Street Promenade, the city’s signature pedestrian festival, set to take place Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The free, day-long event will transform 17 blocks of historic Charles Street into a vibrant pedestrian-only destination, stretching from 300 N. Charles Street to North Avenue.

Vehicular traffic will be closed from Saratoga Street to North Avenue, allowing visitors to explore the corridor on foot while enjoying live entertainment, outdoor dining, shopping, art installations, and community programming.

Charles Street has long served as one of Baltimore’s defining cultural and commercial corridors,” said DPOB President Shelonda Stokes, via press release. “The Charles Street Promenade celebrates the incredible businesses, restaurants, residents, artists, and organizations that make this historic thoroughfare such a vital part of Baltimore’s identity and character. We’re thrilled to extend this invitation to our entire community to come together and experience the vibrancy of our City in a uniquely engaging pedestrian-friendly way, while rediscovering Baltimore’s ‘Main Street.’

The 2026 Charles Street Promenade will feature activities and attractions throughout the corridor, including:

  • A Baltimore Heritage walking tour offering visitors a closer look at the architecture and history of Charles Street.
  • Interactive beauty experiences and promotions from newly opened businesses such as Kaizen Beauty.
  • Performances by the Thomas Johnson Middle School Drumline.
  • A beer garden hosted by Wet City and Guilford Hall Brewery on the 1200 block.
  • A Super Mario Brothers gaming experience displayed on the LED billboard at 1700 N. Charles Street in partnership with the upcoming SuperNova festival.
  • Baltimore Orioles-themed activations and fan experiences.

Event organizers encourage attendees to explore the promenade with friends and family, whether by foot or bicycle, and note that the event is both family-friendly and pet-friendly.
