Severn teen arrested with two loaded guns

SEVERN, Md. (WBFF) — A 16-year-old from Severn was arrested after being found in possession of two loaded handguns.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, on June 20, around 10:10 p.m., authorities responded to Parham Court and Stillmeadows Drive in Severn for a reported assault in progress.

Upon arrival, police found that a 16-year-old boy attempted to flee the scene on foot, but he was detained shortly after.

Authorities said that during a foot chase of the teen, detectives saw the suspect attempt to discard a backpack that was recovered by police.

Inside that backpack, police found a loaded 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number and a second loaded 9mm handgun.

The 16-year-old boy was arrested and now faces charges, police said.
