Baltimore Police said the 14-year-old arrested in connection with a hit-and-run over the weekend is being charged with stolen auto and vehicular manslaughter. As of Monday, police said he was being detained.

While the driver left the scene, officers were able to locate the vehicle and arrest the driver, a 14-year-old boy. Police said the vehicle was reported stolen by a family member just prior to the crash.

According to a GoFundMe, the victim is Jordan Bright.

“Jordan was a precious child with a bright future ahead of her. She should have had countless more birthdays to celebrate, first days of school to experience, dreams to pursue, and memories to create with those who loved her. Instead, her mother, father, siblings, and loved ones are now facing the unimaginable pain of saying goodbye far too soon,” the GoFundMe said.

According to the Baltimore City’s State’s Attorney’s Office, due to the age of the teen, the case has to be tried in the juvenile system.

Due to state law, the Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) was unable to comment on the case.

Detectives from the Crash Team are investigating this incident.
