MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A 17-year-old boy is charged as an adult after Montgomery County police said they found him carrying a homemade “ghost gun.”
Devonte Carlton Jr. from Washington, D.C., was arrested on June 19.
Officers were called ot an apartment complex in the area of Sligo Avenue and Fenton Street on just before 9 p.m.

Police were told that a group had entered a construction zone at the complex and were gambling in a stairwell.
Officers went to the stairwell and found a group throwing dice, according to a news release. When confronted, investigators said Carlton attempted to pick up a bag and take off running. Officers said they managed to snag the bag, but Carlton ran off.
Police said a homemade gun, often called a ghost gun, was found inside the bag.
Officers chased after Carlton. Bodycam shows he was found hiding under a car in a parking lot.
Carlton faces charges of fourth-degree burglary, obstructing and hindering and gun charges. He is being held without bond.
