BALTIMORE (WBFF) — New security restrictions are now in place in Fells Point as Baltimore Police investigate an overnight assault on a security officer.
Baltimore Police said officers were called to the 900 block of South Bond Street around 2:37 a.m. Sunday.
They found a security officer who had been assaulted. Medics treated the officer for minor injuries and police said the officer was able to return to work, but no suspect was arrested.

The assault happened just hours after the new weekend restrictions took effect.
The city said the rules, roadblocks and checkpoint-style traffic controls are meant to create a safer environment.

Police said weekend roadblocks and checkpoint-style traffic controls will continue as part of an effort to disrupt illegal activity and respond to what officials have called “teen takeovers.”
“If we’re being completely honest as well, just the younger kids, they don’t make it fun for late night people, whether you’re bar hopping or trying to go out for a nice dinner, celebrations, they just make everything very difficult to have fun,” resident Lauren Harvey said.
“I will say, if you’re underage, you shouldn’t be coming out to a place that’s geared towards people going out and drinking and there should be things that should be geared to them,” resident Ram Singh said.
The city said Fells Point remains open, and the policies are designed to create a safe and respectful experience for visitors.
Now, following the assault of a security officer, the first weekend under the tightened rules is again putting the city’s approach to the test.
